WHAT IT IS:
An exfoliator derived from sugarcane, which safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, the MedPeel Glycolic Acid 50% peel helps bring fresh new skin to the surface. This is beneficial for those who are looking for ingredients that help with anti-aging, such as sun spots or age spots and help those with acne-prone and blackhead-prone skin. This would be a good peel to start with for new users or the next step up from a Glycolic 30% peel. Glycolic acid is safe for all skin tones and is best for normal/dry/combination skin type.
WHAT IT IS FORMULATED TO DO:
Glycolic acid loosens the bonds between cells, allowing old, dead skin cells to shed off of the skin on a cellular level. This will allow for new healthy cell growth.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
Before Your Peel
For best results, prep the skin for a week prior to peel application with a daily exfoliator such as Glycolic 10% Daily Exfoliator. We strongly recommend conducting a patch test 3 days before applying a peel to ensure no negative or unusual reactions occur.
After Your Peel
Generously apply Daily Collagen Complex, Hyaluronic Serum or Squalane as needed for tight, dry skin. Use a minimum of broad spectrum SPF 30 every day to protect healing skin. Begin using a daily exfoliator in between peels for long lasting results.
DOWNTIME:
Mild - The Glycolic 50% peel has little to no downtime, you may see some mild flaking but typically not. The skin may be a bit pink and tight for a few hours following the peel. You can resume to normal exfoliation after one week.
2oz Acid Peels contain 10-15 applications
Peel can be repeated every 2 weeks.
DIRECTIONS:
Please read complete instructions that arrive with your peel prior to applying peel. You can also read more about how to apply a chemical peel here.
Step 1: Wash the skin with a gel based cleanser and pat dry. Then apply pre-peel solution using a cotton ball to ensure the skin is properly cleansed.
Step 2: Apply the Glycolic 50% peel to a gauze pad and smooth it over the desired area of the face, neck or decolletage.
Step 3: Allow the peel to set for no more than 3-5 minutes during the first application. Observe the reaction and note the results. During future treatments, you may increase the peel time up to a full 20 minutes. If the skin feels uncomfortable, apply cool water gauze compresses to calm the sensation.
Step 4: Remove the peel by applying the Neutralizer Solution directly over the applied area. Rinse the remaining solution with cool water. Gently pat the skin dry.
Step 5. Apply anti-aging serum, we recommend MedPeel Hyaluronic Moisturizer Cream.
Step 6: Follow with any moisturizer of your choice, we recommend MedPeel Hyaluronic Moisturizer Cream
